| Mon, Feb 15th, 2010 12:30 am -
Station 20 along with Medic 2-91 were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 1500 block area of Brushy Ridge Rd. Chief 20 and the Ambulance arrived to find one vehicle on its side resting in a drainage ditch with one trapped partially under the vehicle. Chief 20 requested an additional Rescue Company and the Paramedic Platoon Chief. Upon arrival of the Rescue Engine Captain 2-20 (Ludwig) split the crew which began the task of stabilizing in which a com-a-long, and cribbing were used. Once the vehicle was stabilized a ram was used to lift the vehicle and free the patients arm. The Rescue Engine and Tanker crews along with Engine 1 (WBF) also removed the roof and part of the cab to extricate the patient. After a prolonged rescue the patient was taken by Life Flight to Geisinger Medical Center. |
